Tomaten-Erhalterring-Sorten
In den Erhalterringen des VEN angebaute Tomatensorten. Sie werden in zwei Gruppen unterschieden:
Hausgartensorten (HG): Häufig über Jahrzehnte von einem Gärtner erhaltene Tomaten, die zumindest in Deutschland nie eine Sortenzulassung hatten, aber gut lokalen Bedingungen angepasst und gärtnerisch wertvoll sind.
Sorten aus der Roten Liste (RL) (Historisch genutztes Gemüse - PGRDEU): Dabei handelt es sich um historische Tomatensorten, vor 1960 in Deutschland genutzte Sorten. Sie sind in historischen Quellen erwähnt, besitzen heute keine Sortenzulassung mehr und das Saatgut ist nur in Genbanken und/oder Saatgutinitiativen verfügbar.
